Sinopse
Em Kyoto, no final do século XIX, o filho de um encadernador local, Kyujuro Fukakusa, vê seu pai assassinado diante de seus olhos e jura vingança. Em sua busca por justiça, ele responde ao chamado de recrutamento do Shinsengumi (ou "O novo esquadrão"), uma recém-formada brigada especial de samurais leais ao shogun. Lá ele conhece outros recrutas e espadachins proficientes, o enigmático Daisuke Kamakiri. Apesar da lacuna em seus níveis de habilidade de luta, os dois formam um vínculo estreito, mas pode sobreviver à era da agitação que está descendo em "Os Lobos de Mibu?" (Fonte: eManga)
